Another great piece. That “Great (White) Man Theory” smacks of hubris and is anathema to do much I believe in. It’s very core that some men are born with greatness traits is just a racism/sexism enabler.

I will propose that all people are endowed with the potential for greatness and factors such as desire, setting and dumb luck all determine how many people will in the future consider that person great.

Note I did not say they are great.

Also great deeds are rarely accomplished alone. Just like a hot shot QB moving to a terrible team for more money, the greatness rarely continues without others.
